Good name as bad guy

Need a nasty?
Call Bruce Greenwood

Bruce Greenwood, who co-stars
in Rules Of Engagement, will
play JFK next in Kevin Costner's
Thirteen Days.

CANADIAN CONTENT: There's bad. There's badder. And then there's Bruce Greenwood. The Vancouver-raised actor has made a name for himself defining nasty. In Double Jeopardy he was Ashley Judd's conniving con.

For Rules Of Engagement, Greenwood portrays a scheming U.S. security council official covering up a Marine colonel's (Samuel L. Jackson) aggressive assault. Opening Friday, the film features Jackson, and Tommy Lee Jones as a Marine lawyer. But Greenwood, as usual, scene steals as the slick-and-slime one. "Yes," agrees Greenwood smiling, "I've played my share of baddies." He has attempted other roles. He's a dad in Here And Now, which he calls "Terms Of Endearment for teenagers." Upcoming is his portrayal of U.S. president John F. Kennedy in Kevin Costner's Thirteen Days. It's Costner's take on the Cuban Missile crisis. Greenwood reports that Costner wanted an exact replica of Kennedy with teeth and nose prosthetics. "But it was laughable," says Greenwood. "It just looked really goofy." Other than that, Greenwood wants to share his latest 'Canadian joke.' "Why did the Canadian cross the road? To get to the middle."
