February 24, 2000Bruce Greenwood's first appearance in the popular press! Not only was there a small "gossip" bit in the newspaper itself, the TV edition also featured the spurious story about a prank pulled during the filming of Thirteen Days, (though the film was never mentioned by title). The footage used on TV was from the Double Jeopardy Premiere. The hard copy follows:
Actor Bruce Greenwood was pushing his own agenda on the set of a new movie documenting the tensions around the Cuban Missile Crisis. In a scene with protestors carrying signs like "We Love JFK" and "Ban the Bomb," Bruce snuck in a sign proclaiming "Send Elian Gonzales Back to Cuba." The sign appeared in a few takes before someone realized it wasn't exactly historically correct.
