Television Interviews
ETalk Daily
January 14, 2005

ETalk Daily ran a short interview with Bruce Greenwood the day his movie Racing Stripes opened. The interview (with an unidentified and off camera host) ran on TV and can also be seen on the CTV website. Clips of the movie were sprinkled liberally throughout as both people talked and Greenwood brought along a toy stuffed zebra with whom he interacted occassionally. A transcription follows:

Clips from the movie

HOST: Racing Stripes is off to the box office races. The cast has a stellar track record, so how was THIS zoo of a set?
BRUCE: I need to feel who did the voices....because we shot the movie independent of that....and we did the voices later....I have a photo of the shetland pony and myself that I'm gonna get Dustin to sign and say how great it was working with me."
HOST: So, were his furry co-stars more friendly?
BRUCE: You'll be talking to the animals like [holds up a stuffed zebra like he's talking to it face to face] and the animal will go [and he turns the head away] as though he's not interested - because he isn't!
HOST: And Bruce earned his stripes the hard way.
BRUCE: Kind of a little rigid - and he goes [using sound effects along with his arms to illustrate] Ka-Boom! - and butt and booted me and through my sweater and my shirt are huge hoof marks..and y'know, he knocked me down.
HOST: But were Stripes and Bruce fast friends?
BRUCE: [talking high pitched and using the zebra as a puppet] Fantastic! Always petting and giving me carrots and stuff. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. [Turning the puppet around to look at him and using his own voice] Is that what you wanted me to say? Yeah, yeah.
