A half-hour look at the making and history of Thirteen Days, the show was made for E! Entertainment with narration by E! correspondent Todd Newton, and aired in Canada as "Extreme Close-up". The focus was definitely on Kevin Costner, but Bruce offered three brief statements and was featured prominently in all the scenes shown as well as some of the behind-the-scenes shots. The interviews were culled from two familar sources: a press tour and an on-the-set interview for the electronic press kit.
Todd Newton: Costner was instrumental in the casting of Bruce Greenwood as President Kennedy and Steven Culp as Robert Kennedy, the attorney general at the time of the crisis.Kevin Costner: Those guys have been great -- Steven and Bruce. Steven playing Bobby and Bruce playng Jack. We got really lucky with them. Bruce is fantastic. He really seized the part, seized the moment. It's a highlight in his career, I would think. And he's treating it as such. And I think Steven has done the exact same thing.

Todd Newton: Culp admits that he and actor Bruce Greenwood worked hard at perfecting their characterizations of the famous Kennedy brothers.Steven Culp: We had about 5 weeks when we were both in preparation and we'd call each other up on the phone and do dueling Kennedys. We'd call each other up and do the voices, practicing , talking together and sharing our progress and preparation. And so, by the time we got on the set we already had a good relationship.

Todd Newton: Canadian Bruce Greenwood, a seasoned performer, was not intimidated about stepping into JFK's big shoes:
Bruce Greenwood: It was just something you dig into and work at and hope you haven't got a shoe in your mouth when they roll the camera. Things were key to me like his back pain and, of course, the cadence of his speech. As far as the look is concerned, there's not....well, I look how I look.
