Star TV interviewed Bruce Greenwood twice during the Toronto filming of Treacherous Beauties. One of those interviews was done on the set and years later was featured in a Star-TV close-up, from which these morsals have been pulled:

BG: The wish list for the career is to do two, a couple of movies like Atom's every year, you know. Off beat, interesting films that you can't anticipate any kind of reaction on. Just weird interesting movies and do regular movies the rest of the time, you know. Slightly larger, more high profile, so that you can keep the momentum of your career going.

BG: That was a, "Hey, let's go to Toronto and hang out for awhile and work for a few days and ride on nice horses, wear good clothes and kiss some people."Interviewer: Is it as simple as that?
BG: Yeah, It was a Harlequin Romance. It was just a lark.

BG: The Harlequin Romance was, "Oh yeah, really, I'm not doing anything. OK, great. I'll go up there, you know. I have a super good friend who lives here and I hung out with him and we did the show and it was fun and everything. But, you know, Exotica was a whole different ball. I really wanted to do, I want to step out of doing the regular TV fare, the movies of the week for cable. That is really my bread and butter and I wanted to show that I could do something else.

BG: I'm really happy that I was in Atom's movie and got a chance to be seen by, seen as a different kind of actor than I've probably been seen as before. I think a lot of people probably didn't think I could do it. In fact, Atom had a tough time convincing the powers that be to give me the role. You know, he went to the mat for me here. He didn't have to give it to me. He wanted to use me and I wanted to be in it but he got a lot of resistance.
