Throughout the Toronto International Film Festival, Rogers TV in association with Star TV runs small interviews with directors and actors along with clips from their movies. This particular TV spot was shown at the beginning of the 2003 festival and featured an on site interview with Deepa Mehta who had Gary Farmer and Jackie Burroughs with her and concluded with a brief pre-recorded interview with Bruce Greenwood and a scene from The Republic of Love, which had its world premiere at a gala there on September 11th.

Excerpt from an Interview with Jackie Burroughs:

Star TV: And you get to play the star's mother - Bruce Greenwood's mother.
Jackie Burroughs: I'm Brucies' mother and I'm proud of it!

Bruce Greenwood's Interview

I did it because I play so many bad guys. And I don't want to do that all the time. I want to have fun. I want to have a nice little love story and that's what this is. And it's a chance to come home and do something in Canada.
