(Canadian tv series; aired 2/13/94 in Canada)
(aired 1/16/95 in the U.S. over The Disney Channel)
Bruce Greenwood won a Gemini (Canadian Emmy) Award for his guest performance as Caleb Stokes, an educated, mild-mannered drifter who finds work on Alec King's farm and quietly bonds with the family until his mysterious past is harshly uncovered, forcing him to leave. It's a little gem of a role that's full of charm as well as gentle tragedy and Bruce gives a sweetly understated performance that captures perfectly Caleb's pain and vulnerability. Originally approached to have a recurring role on the show, Greenwood's busy schedule only allowed for this single guest performance, which has become a special favorite with his fans.
Not out on video yet, but the series is repeated occassionally on The Disney Channel.
