"Vera," "Julia" impress in limited bows

As the Oscar derby commences, two new releases left the gate at full gait this weekend.

In its first full weekend of release.... Sony Pictures Classics' "Being Julia," starring Annette Bening, counted $130,840 in receipts from nine screens, an average of $14,538.
