History:
To play their roles of astronauts turned terranauts Bruce Greenwood and Hillary Swank had the pleasure of meeting with real-life astronauts, Tom Jones and Susan Helms. Jones, shared his flight experience with Greenwood. "It was very exciting, Tom showed me a video he took when he was doing a reentry from space, and it was just fantastic," explains Greenwood. "Both astronauts were incredibly professional, but every now and then when we were looking at the video, one of them would say, 'Oh, wow, look at that.' It was nice to see the mixture of natural human awe and mixed with true professionalism." But the discomfort of the costumes, as it turns out, was nothing compared to the simulation ride, which mimicked that of a real shuttle. It was a ride that Bruce Greenwood describes as "just a full-on bucking bronco, a head-snapping-back-and-forth, wig-coming-off event." "Actually, I thought it was a lot of fun," laughs Greenwood. "I mean you pay money for this kind of thrill-ride everywhere else."

"Moment to moment, the story is fun, interesting and quite humorous, says Bruce Greenwood, who plays Colonel Iverson. "The dialogue was clever, too, and the relationships between the characters are polar enough to cause plenty of tension."
