Bruce Greenwood has been tapped to star
opposite Tommy Lee Jones and Ashley Judd in
Paramount Pictures’ action thriller Double
Jeopardy.
Greenwood will play Nick, the husband of Judd’s
character, in the Bruce Beresford-helmed pic
that starts shooting today in Vancouver.
While Jones and Judd have been on board since
early April, finding a thesp to portray Nick a
pivotal character in the pic’s twisty plot had
proved elusive.
Early on, Greg Kinnear was approached for the
role. Greenwood was given the nod after his
recently screen test along with Billy Baldwin and
Dylan Walsh.
The film concerns a woman who is released
from prison after serving time for a murder she
did not commit. Jones plays the parole officer
assigned to her case.
Jeopardy is produced by Leonard Goldberg;
David Weisberg and Douglas S. Cook wrote the
script.
Annabeth Gish and Roma Maffia co-star.
Greenwood, who stars in the upcoming MGM
chiller Disturbing Behavior, recently wrapped
the Scott Sanders’ indie Pic Thick as Thieves.
His previous roles include Atom Egoyan’s The
Sweet Hereafter and Exotica, as well as
Fathers’ Day and Passenger 57.
He was repped in the deal by the Gersh
Agency’s Bob Gersh and Lorrie Bartlett, as well
as manager Chuck Binder.

Greenwood's the answer in 'Jeopardy' role

HOLLYWOOD (Variety) - Bruce Greenwood has been tapped to star opposite
Tommy Lee Jones and Ashley Judd in the action thriller "Double Jeopardy."
The film concerns a woman (Judd) who is released from prison after serving
time for a murder she did not commit. Jones plays the parole officer
assigned to her case. Greenwood will play Nick, the husband of Judd's
character.
His previous roles include Atom Egoyan's "The Sweet Hereafter" and
"Exotica," as well as "Fathers' Day" and "Passenger 57." He stars in the
upcoming chiller "Disturbing Behavior," and recently wrapped the indie
"Thick as Thieves."
Director Bruce Beresford was scheduled to start shooting the Paramount
project Wednesday in Vancouver.

Greenwood scores another major part The Province
Canadian actor Bruce Greenwood this week scored another major part, in a
big-budget thriller that's just started filming in Vancouver.
Greenwood and U.S. actress Ashley Judd will play husband and wife in the
action thriller Double Jeopardy.
Also starring in the movie is granite-faced actor Tommy Lee Jones.
The movie was filming for three days this week in an unused part of the
Prince George Regional Correctional Centre. Judd, playing a prisoner, was
surrounded by 130 extras also in prison garb.
The production moves next week for 2 1/2 months of shooting in the Lower
Mainland, which will double for various U.S. cities.
At the helm is Australian director Bruce Beresford.
Greenwood's role is the latest in a run of good news for the actor.
He won raves last year for his part as a grieving father in director Atom
Egoyan's The Sweet Hereafter.
This month, Greenwood will be onscreen as a creepy small-town doctor when
the Vancouver-shot MGM thriller Disturbing Behavior opens in theatres.
