(2005 feature film)

Bruce Greenwood plays Davis McClaren, a geologist who is looking for a lost meteorite deep in Antarctica in this family film for Disney. The stars of the film are the eight sled dogs who rescue him and then are forced to remain behind during the long winter that follows. The story concerns the dogs' survival along with McClaren's attempts to assist their owner (top billed Paul Walker) in getting them back.

Filming began on February 21, 2005 in Smithers, British Columbia, a community high in the mountains above Vancouver, BC. The movie was produced by David Hoberman and directed by Frank Marshall, who contracted for some additional footage as late as December 2005. The film was shot under the working title of Antarctica, but was renamed in the Fall after several successful test runs. The film went into wide release on February 17, 2006, and did extremely well at the box office. Jason Biggs and Moon Bloodgood co-star with Wendy Crewson playing Greenwood's wife.
