BO will be the new home for Bruce Greenwood in his latest project, a series co-written by Deadwood creater David Milch and author Kem Nunn, that will center on the surfing world of Southern California. The show will concentrate on one influential family headed by Bruce as its patriarch. Rebecca deMornay has been signed to play his wife, Brian Van Holt will play his son, Ed O'Neill is set to play his best friend, and Austin Nichols will play the title character, a surfer wanna-be who comes to L.A. to be near their world. Early reports are encouraging and include the surprising information that Bruce's character - Mitch Yost - has the unusual (and unwanted) ability to levitate. Or is it all in his mind? The dysfunctional family will eventually include four generations of surfers. The pilot and eleven episodes have been given the green light by HBO; the pilot is being shot in San Diego and directed by Emmy winning helmer Mark Tinker, with whom Bruce worked on St. Elsewhere. The series is set to premiere on Sunday June 10th.
