When a missing page from the diary of John Wilkes Booth turns up and implicates Ben Gates' (Nicolas Cage) grandfather in Lincoln's assassination, Ben is determined to clear his family name. When he discovers that the truth can be found in a secret book that only Presidents of the United States may see, Ben and his team go to extreme measures to get their hands on it.
