		Greenwood earns his 'Stripes' Bruce Greenwood is set to star as the father of a jockey played by Hayden Panettiere in Alcon Entertainment's "Racing Stripes" for director Frederik Du Chau. The voice cast of the live-action/CGI family film includes Dustin Hoffman, Whoopi Goldberg and frankie Muniz. Warner Bros. Pictures will distribute. Greenwood is repped by the Gersh Agency and manager Chuck Binder. Attorney Scott Edel of Kleinberg, Lopez, Lange, Brisbin & Cuddy negotiated on behalf of Alcon.

Greenwood gears up for 'Racing' gig
Hoffman, Goldberg, Muniz, Pantoliano to supply voices

HOLLYWOOD -- Bruce Greenwood ("Thirteen Days," "The Sweet Hereafter") has inked to play the other lead human role opposite Hayden Panettiere in Alcon Entertainment's live-action/CG pic "Racing Stripes." Pic, which also features the voices of Dustin Hoffman, Whoopi Goldberg, Frankie Muniz, Joe Pantoliano, Mandy Moore, Patrick Stewart, Joshua Jackson, Michael Rosenbaum, Steve Harvey, David Spade, Michael Clarke Duncan and Jeff Foxworthy, starts shooting Sept. 15 in South Africa.

"Stripes" is the story of an abandoned baby zebra (voiced by Muniz) who grows up believing he's a racehorse.

With the help of barnyard friends and a teenage girl who dreams of being a jockey (Panettiere), he overcomes prejudice and self-doubt to pursue his dream of running with thoroughbreds.

Greenwood plays the role of the teenage girl's father, now a farmer who turned his back on horse racing after he lost his wife to a racing accident.

Frederik Du Chau ("Quest for Camelot") will direct pic, written by David Schmidt, along with Kirk De Micco and Mike Samonek.

Producers are Lloyd Phillips, Edward L. McDonnell and Alcon principals Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson, with Steven Wegner exec producing. Alcon's Kira Davis will serve as co-producer with Phil Patterson.

Pic will be released Jan. 14, 2005, the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend. Summit Entertainment reps foreign rights.

Greenwood, who is repped by the Gersh Agency and managed by Binder & Associates, will next be seen in "I, Robot" for Sony and has just wrapped "Being Julia," starring opposite Annette Bening.
