Movie-TV Credits

Bruce Greenwood is playing the fictional Canadian Prime Minister Richard Adderly in The Summit, a four-hour, two-part mini-series produced by Shaftesbury Films/Media Headquarters in association with CBC Television, Global Television and Powercorp International. Filming began on Oct. 1 and concludes on Nov. 21. Locations include areas in Ontario around Haliburton, Hamilton, Parry Sound, Sudbury and Toronto, as well as London (UK) and Ecuador.

Set on the eve of the G8 Summit, the mini series follows Maria Puerta’s (Mia Maestro) struggle to bring justice to her murdered son, who fell victim to a corrupt pharmaceutical company in a remote area of Columbia.  Maria turns to her trusted friend Leonie (Rachelle Lefevre), the estranged daughter of Prime Minister Adderly, for help in unravelling the conspiracy surrounding his death. Approaching the G8 Summit armed with a vial of infected blood, Maria is intercepted by Thom Lightstone (James Purefoy), of the Epidemiological Investigations Unit.  Together they must get the attention of the world’s most powerful leaders regarding a biological weapon that threatens the entire future of the western world.

Written by acclaimed Albertan playwright John Krizanc and directed by Nick Copus, the cast also includes Christopher Plummer, Wendy Crewson and Nigel Bennett.

The Summit will air on CBC in 2008.
