Born in St. Louis, MO, Jim Byrnes has long been a resident of Vancouver, BC, where he's built a solid career as a musician and actor. He studied both art forms in college, but after an accident in which he lost both legs, his artistic endeavors were put on temporary hold. In 1981, Byrnes started The Jim Byrnes Band, a blues band that's become a staple of the Vancouver music scene. As an actor he's best known for two series: "Highlander" and "Wiseguy," but he's also appeared in countless television movies and series and has long had his own Vancouver based music show. Bruce Greenwood has known Jim for many years, co-starred with him in the movie Dream Man, and appeared musically on "The Jim Byrnes Show" in 1998, an event covered in some detail on the accompanying link.
