Canadian singer/songwriter Norman Foote is an award-winning performer for children, who has garnered critical acclaim throughout North America. When Norman was 20 , he left his home in Vancouver, Canada to explore Australia and New Zealand. He made his living as a street performer and songster there and developed an interest in puppetry and physical comedy through his association with a travelling theatre troupe in New South Wales, Australia. Today he combines music with the art of puppetry and comedy to create his own highly unique programs for kids. A prolific performer, he has written and recorded songs for Disney Records, Shari Lewis, the CBC syndicated t.v. show "Scoop & Doozie" and dozens of others.
Born Norman Mervyn Barrington-Foote, he first met Bruce Greenwood when both were students at The University of British Columia. Their close friendship lead to many musical ventures and Bruce produced Norm's first CD and performed as a life sized puppet in one of his earliest shows. They still write songs together and Bruce sings backup on Norm's recordings whenever he's in town. More personally, Bruce was Best Man at Norm's marriage, they were partners in an infamous scheme to manufacture hats shaped like the Vancouver Stadium dome, and Bruce almost always joins his friend in his annual Brackendale Songwriting Festival in Squamish, BC.
