Because of distribution rights, MEE-SHEE,THE WATER GIANT ended up being a direct-to-video title, so the only way to see it is through this format. It probably would have looked wonderful on the big screen, and the story is sweet enough to have promised some success commercially, but most Bruce Greenwood's fans are happy to have had it finally arrive. Bruce stars as a widower sent to a remote area of Canada to retrieve an expensive piece of equipment for his company. His lonely son befriends a sea monster that few people have ever seen, but the situation only compromise his already strained relationship with his father. Based on an Indian legend, the monsters were effectively created by Jim Henson's company. Unfortunately, there are no DVD extras and the cover plays to children. |
