DVD front cover

RACING STRIPES combines actors with animation into a gentle family film about a zebra who wants to be a racehorse. Bruce Greenwood stars as a farmer who used to be a horse trainer until his wife was killed in a racing accident, and now his daughter (Hayden Panettiere) plots to ride her pet zebra to victory against his direct orders. The film is sweet and fun, but the barnyard animals along with the starry actors who voice them overpower both the film and the DVD extras. All that Greenwood fans will find here is an alternative ending and a few nice mentions in the director's commentary.
