THE SWEET HEREAFTER won more awards and received the most luminous reviews of any film Bruce Greenwood has made thus far. Greenwood plays Billy Ansell, the moral center of this 1997 film -- a widower who loses his two children in the tragic bus accident tearing the town apart. Because of its widespread acceptance as a film of excellence, the video - released in 1998 - is easy to buy or rent, available at decent (but not cheap) prices at any video outlet and sold regularly at every online auction. The DVD is quite superior and features many items of interest to BG fans, including short interviews with Bruce. This is one everybody will probably want to own!
The DVD of The Sweet Hereafter is one of the very best DVDs on the market today. In addition to the finest version of the movie available, it includes a complete re-showing of the film with Atom Egoyan's comments (along with some additions by Russell Banks), the American and Canadian trailers (which are different), Atom's interview on The Charlie Rose Show, a complete filmography and biography of each star accompanied by a short interview. .
